Texas Hold'em poker rules

Texas Hold'em is a variation of the card game poker. Texas Hold'em is beside Seven Card Stud and Omaha Hold'em the most often played form of the poker games and is often played at poker tournaments.

Hold'em refers in general to all those poker variations in which five open cards (Board cards, also Community cards) are laid in the middle of the table which can be used by every player, while every player may not use, nevertheless, more than two his hand maps (whole cards).

No limit (NLHE) There is only one minimum Bet or a Raise, the maximum is limited only by the height of one’s stack. Most casinos play according to the rule that the so-called Minimum-Bet must correspond to the Big Blind. If a player wants to raise this bet he must at least double this bet. An other raise (reraise) must correspond again to the difference between Bet and Raise. If the Blinds are, for example, with 100 (Small blind) and 200 (Big blind), Bet must have at least the value of 200, a rise with Bet of 200 at least on 400 take place. However, it is raised of Bet of from 200 to 500, a possible Reraise must not double once more the amount, but correspond only of the difference of Bet and Raise, in this case around from 300 to 800. If a player puts his whole stack (Table punts), one calls this also all in. With the No limit Hold'em-Cash Game one distinguishes basically two strategies: The large stack strategy with which the player with the at most possible amount sits down in money to the table and the Short stack strategy with which the player with the minimum buys a place.

Pot limit (PLHE)
One can bet only so much how much is at the moment in the pot.

Fixed limit (LHE) the bet heights are given. In the first betting rounds the bet amounts are the size of the Big Blind, in the last two rounds the bet size is two Big Blinds. Furthermore the maximum number of the raises is fixed, e.g., to three (Raise, Reraise, Cap).

The first betting round (Preflop)
Every participant receives a start hand consisting of two cards (pocket cards or pockets). The player on the left from big blind must announce his play decision as first, with specialist term this is called, he speaks as a first and opens the first betting round (betting interval). Now he is able either

    * hold, also go along (call)
    * raise (raise) or
    * get out (fold).

In the same manner the remaining players continue clockwise the betting round.

A player may not increase the bet twice in the one and same betting round in succession, unless, another player would have raised. If a player opens the round with bet or places raise and all following players either hold or get out, this betting round is finished, and now the player who has increased the bet last may not raise in this betting round again.

The second betting round (flop)
After ending of the first betting round the croupier lays down one card (Burn Card) and then three cards openly on the table (flop), the second betting round follows this. The first player sitting left to the big blind position, has to speak in this and all other betting rounds first. Then comes the player on his left, and so on.

As soon as a player has put a bet, the following players are able only either

    * hold (call or go along) and the same amount in the pot deposit, or
    * raise (raise) and a higher amount than the preceding player placed, or
    * get out (fold) – in this case the player files his maps concealedly and loses.

If one or several players have placed the betting round as long as is continued, until all players have held either or folded and got out of the play.

The third betting round (Turn Card)
Before the third betting round becomes again a card is burnt, and a new open card is dealt (Turn card). Once the turn is dealt a new betting round comes based on the analogy as before

The last betting round (River Card)
Now a card is again got burnt and then the fifth map (River card) is put on openly, and it is followed by the last betting round..

Showdown
If it comes after the last betting round to the showdown, every player who is still in play shows his two hand cards and the player who puts together the best poker combination of five cards wins. In case of from equivalent combinations the pot is split among the winners.
