Poker Hands Ranking

Royal flush: The highest possible hand in poker. Consists of ace, king, queen, jack and ten which are of the same suit. If two players have at the same time a royal flush (what is possible only in the Seven Card Stud), they divide the pot.

Straight flush:
A Straight flush also exists of five cards following on each other of the same colour, indeed, not up to the ace - e.g., 5-6-7-8-9. If two players have a Straight flush, that wins whose hand begins with the highest card. If both hands are absolutely equivalent, the pot is divided.

Four of a kind: a hand with four cards of the same rank, e.g., four aces or four nines. If two players has "quads" then that wins whose cards has the higher rank. If a quad lies as communal cards on the table and is the highest hand, that player who has the highest fifth card as wins.

Full House: A trips plus a pair, e.g., three kings and two tens or three fours and two aces form the Full House. If two players have a Full House, that which holds the higher trips wins. From both above mentioned examples the hand with three kings would win.

Flush: A flush exists of five cards of the same suit - club, spades, hearts or diamond. If two or more players have a flush of the same colour, the player whose flush shows the highest card wins. If the highest card is one of the communal cards, the 2 highest card decides who has the highest flush.

Straight:
Five cards in numerical order form the Straight, as for example 8-9-10-jack-queen. If two or more players have a Straight, that wins with the highest card. If two players have an identical Straight, the pot is divided. With the regulation of the highest straight the colours play, by the way, no role. The ace has a special function in a Straight, because it can serve as highest ones as well as as the lowest card – Ace-King-Queen-Jack-10 or just 5-4-3-2-Ace. Please, note that, e.g. Queen-King-Ace-2-3 is not a Straight.

Three of a kind: Trips - Three cards of the same rank, e.g., three jacks or three deuces. If two players has trips, then the higher trips win. Should two players have an equivalent triplet, that player with the highest fourth card wins. If this is also equivalent with both, the highest fifth card determines the winner.

Two pair: Two pairs - a hand which contains two pairs, as for example two tems and two sixes. If two players have two pairs, that which has the highest odd pair wins. If two players have the equivalent highest odd pair, the second odd pair determines the winner. If this is also identical with both, the highest fifth card, the kicker decides.

One pair: A pair - a hand which contains two cards of same rank, as for example two aces or two queens. If two or more players have a pair, the higher pair wins the pot. If two players have an equivalent high pair, then certainly the highest third card determines the winner.

High card: High card - a hand which can form none of the hands cited on top. In such a case that player who has the highest single ticket wins. If two or more players have an equivalent high single ticket, the second-highest card wins etc., Besides the ace is valid as highest ones and 2 as the lowest card.
